Daytime Wedding

Have you ever noticed that royals and celebrities hold their weddings in the daytime? This isn’t a new trend. They know the true benefits to holding a daytime wedding. While we may never have a chance to ask their reasons for having a daytime weddings, we can certainly imagine why!

Our Five Reasons to have a Daytime Wedding:

1. You can take your photos outside during the daylight. Just take a look on Instagram or Pinterest. Everyone wants that bright, airy look!  The color in your photos will be more vibrant with the use of natural light, and the lighting will also flatter your natural beauty. You can take advantage of the natural landscape of gardens, trees and the sky. There’s no better backdrop than Mother Nature!

2.  When you go out for brunch, what drink do you have in hand? Mimosas! That takes care of your signature drink for the reception. Mimosas are the perfect cocktail for a daytime wedding. Want an even trendier detail for your brunch wedding reception? Add a mimosa bar with fruit garnishes. Even better!

3. Dress Festive or Formal. You and your bridal party can be as dressed up or casual as you want to be. Beautiful sundresses are very appropriate for daytime weddings, and your bridal party can also wear a shorter or more casual dress. However, if you want to still have a black tie affair, it can be done!

4. Who doesn’t love a brunch buffet? Your food can be a combination chicken and waffles, fruit, carving stations, grilled vegetables, salmon canapes, frittatas, taco stations…you name it! There are so many delicious brunch options to choose from. Check out some of our catering menus at

5. Brunch weddings typically end in the early afternoon. This gives you the rest of the day to spend time with your closest friends or out-of-town family. Do you have a plane to catch? Ending the wedding earlier in the day gives you more flight options to get to your honeymoon sooner. Doesn’t that sound romantic and dreamy!?

Pick Your Venue and Date First

The first thing on your agenda should be to nail down your wedding date and venue. Here at Mediterranean Villa we have several venue options that will work for any bride – from an outdoor garden wedding to romantic chapel setting indoors. We also conveniently have ballrooms and a loft area on site for your reception space to make your wedding day as easy and effortless as possible!

But, the reason you want to make sure to you have your venue picked out beforehand is because you don’t want your wedding dress to clash with the overall wedding style. Instead you want your dress to suit the overall tone of your wedding, whether that be casual or formal.

Set Your Budget

It’s important to think about budget when it comes to wedding dress shopping. The last thing you want to do is blow your budget right off the bat. Figure out a realistic price range you’re comfortable with, so when it comes to shopping for that perfect dress you know what you can and can’t afford.

Research Your Bridal Style

Before you head out in search for your ideal dress, do some research. Narrow down your bridal style by thumbing through bridal magazines. You can also create a Pinterest board to save photos of dresses you like. Don’t worry about trendy in-the-moment fashion. Focus on your personal style and what flatters you the most.

Find The Right Bridal Salon

When it comes to finding the right bridal salon, it’s best to do your homework. Don’t waste your time going to a salon that isn’t going to suit you. Make sure to read reviews. Also, all ahead to find out if they carry the style, size, and price range that you’re looking for.

Go Dress Shopping

Once you’ve laid down all the groundwork, it’s finally time to go shopping! Now that you know what will and won’t work for your big day, you’ll have a clearer vision of what you’re looking for. We hope this will help you narrow down dress selections for your dream wedding gown.

Brittney and Brandon Bride of the Month

Brittney & Brandon Craig

Brittney and Brandon met through mutual friends in their hometown of Pine Bluff Arkansas. She knew he was the one when he chose to move to a different state just to be close to her! After three and a half years of dating Brandon asked Brittney on December 20,2014 to Marry Him.  They Tied the Knot less than a year later at Mediterranean Villa on November 21,2015! 145 guests came from all over the country to celebrate them and enjoy the night. Mr. and Mrs. Craig had a beautiful ceremony and reception with colors inspired by fall and an amazing custom menu with a Caribbean flare. With all floral designs to match the fall theme her tables lit up with candlelight and beautiful fall colors. Her favorite part of the night was when Brandon crawled over to her commando style to retrieve her garter. From waiting to see her groom’s face when she walked down the aisle, to her last dance, the night ended with a great farewell.
